Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Walk on the wild side

Set in 70 acres of Yorkshire countryside, Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to nearly 400 animals and 70 different species of animal. With interactive live shows, huge play areas and exciting encounters with animals, it is a fantastic place to experience a truly breathtaking walkthrough wildlife adventure!

There are many different areas within the park for you to explore. Into Africa is a new immersive reserve with amazing views of some of the most popular African animals. It is home to critically endangered black rhino, Eland and Lechwe antelope, Ostrich, Giraffe and endangered Grevy’s Zebra. The animals roam together in the landscaped reserve. Into Africa is the closest to a view over the Savannah that you will find outside Africa.

Next up venture into South America Viva. South America is a land of contrasts, full of colourful and vibrant biodiversity. Spend some time here will allow you to get up close and personal with wildlife that you may have never heard of! Keep an eye out for Mara, Capybara, Squirrel Monkeys and the Six-Banded Armadillo!

Yorkshire Wildlife Park also has an amazing new live show that takes you into the land of the creepy crawlies, transporting you across continents to discover the small, the scary, the fascinating and the extraordinary world of the bugs! “Big Bugs” is a larger than life interactive family show that explores the fascinating world of giant insects, arachnids and arthropods!

The park is great for kids and has both indoor and outdoor play areas for all types of weather. The two indoor play areas are called Monkey playhouse and the Zoom Super Slide Barn. They feature amazing slides, handcrafted walkways, wooden baboons and a 20-foot vertical drop slide (for the fearless!). Outside they have the Big Bugs Play Area, Oasis Adventure Play Area and the Jungle Lookout Play Area. All fully equipped with zip wires, forts, obstacle courses and jungle huts.

They have a range of events here throughout the year from a naked fun run in aid of polar bears to Wild Live Safari nights every Saturday throughout August. For more information about their events see here.
