The Deep is located in Hull and is one of the UK's biggest and best aquariums. Enjoy a fun-packed day out for the whole family as you journey through warm tropical lagoons to the murky depths of the oceans. You will get to encounter over 3,500 fish, including spectacular sharks and rays, as well as sea turtles and colony of Gentoo penguins.

A trip here is truly memorable as you experience the story of the oceans, which are brought to life through interactive stations and informative presentations. You will get to see divers carry out a daily dive show and watch the animals being fed. There are touch pool sessions which enable you to get 'hands on'. There is also a fantastic viewing tunnel and an extraordinary glass lift which takes you through the 10 metre Endless Ocean exhibit.

The aquarium is incredibly family friendly and they run a series of great events and sessions throughout the year. On Tuesday mornings during term time they host a 'Little nippers' session from 9:30-11am and these are fun filled discovery and play sessions.

They also hold events further afield, one of which if the Egg Case Hunt, which takes place at Spurn Point on the East Coast. These free events are being delivered in partnership with the Shark Trust and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in a bid to involve local people in shark conservation. For more information about their events see here.

The Deep experiences are also not to be missed and these are perfect for animal lovers of the marine variety. The Junior Experience Day lets children aged between 8 and 11 take part in the daily activities here. For 32.50 per child they will get to take part in a nori feed at the Lagoon and help to clean the exhibit acrylic. Or if you are after something completely different you can do sleepovers here! Children get the opportunity to sleep next to the tanks as sharks, rays and other species swim close by.
